 (4) Paper Mill Pinch Point to Central Ave

Start at Ramsey St and Recycle Way by the paper Mill’s recycle plant.  This is the pinch point that we can install a box culvert much like what is under Central Ave now on the Grassy Point Trail.  You will see this in the next segment.  We will travel along the toe of the I35 right-of-way and the Paper Mill property then travel down the east side of Central Ave down to Grassy Point Trail that runs under Central Ave into Irving Park.

 (5) Central Ave along Keene Creek to    BN Track just shy of Grand Ave

Start below Central Ave on the Grassy Point Trail and head into Irving Park along Keen Creek up to the BN track just before Grand Ave.  This section promotes the connection to Irving neighborhood as wells as the Grassy Point Trail that is not connected to any other trail.

  (6) Keene Creek to Raleigh St (Kwik Trip)  Economic Alley  just off Grand Ave

We feel this section and the next one (7) needs to be identified in the Master Plan so in the future we can have a continuous alignment to the existing Munger Trail Head at Pulaski St, fulfilling the Cross City Trail vision and a wonderful loop system that serves Irving, Norton Park, Spirit Valley and beyond.

This is the Keene Creek to Raleigh St section that runs on BN railroad right-of-way.  Some folks are working to have this section abandoned and in the City's domain. This will help with Economic Development portion of the funding sourceof the CCT. There is opportunity along Grand Ave for businesses to be create and recreated in this corridor.

 (7) Raleigh St (Kwik Trip) to   Existing Munger State Trail Head

We feel this section and the previous one (6) needs to be identified in the Master Plan so in the future we can have a continuous alignment to the existing Munger Trail Head at Pulaski St, fulfilling the Cross City Trail vision and a wonderful loop system that serves Irving, Norton Park, Spirit Valley and beyond.

The last segment from Raleigh St where there is a new Kwik Trip.  We head along the railroad bed that has been abandoned.  A couple lots have been purchased yet we may be able to get an easement on them.  This runs parallel to Grand Ave up to roughly the Zoo then passes over the railroad and continues west along the tracks up to the existing Western Waterfront Trail spur.  We then cross the Kingsbury Creek on the existing trail bridge and head right into the Munger Trail head parking lot connecting directly to the State Trail. This completes the Cross City Trail along the River Route segments.
